A Blue & White Christmas
Is there anything more elegant than a chinoiserie Christmas tablescape? This setup might look familiar to you—it was originally published last year in the Christmas 2020 issue of Entertain & Celebrate magazine—but it was just featured again in this year’s Holidays special issue of Southern Lady magazine!
This gorgeous spread consisted of not one, but THREE desserts—a hand-painted (with food coloring) chinoiserie vase cake filled with delicate sugar poinsettias and sugar magnolias, sugar cookies decorated with iconic pink Charleston doors, and finally a delicious gingerbread cake topped with a lemon cream cheese frosting (PS—you can find my recipe for the cake here).
The setup was styled by the incredibly talented Lydia Menzies and photographed by the amazing Abby Stewart. Lydia styled everything to perfect, down to the very last detail (including monogrammed oyster place cards, an antique-filled coffee and tea station, as well as the most festive cocktail tray you could imagine).
